Until 2017, there were various classifications of Periodontitis, which to a certain extent generated confusion among professionals. In 2018, a new classification was established, and its review is important to establish the prevalence of this pathology in various populations. The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of periodontal diseases according to the new classification in adults in a dental clinic, Pacasmayo, 2023. A descriptive, observational, cross-sectional study was carried out; in which 102 adult patients treated at the Nuevo Milenio Clinic between the months of November and December were evaluated. Patients whose age group was between 20 and 60 years of age were included. The data were collected in a collection form, for subsequent processing in a statistical package, to calculate means, averages and frequencies. The results found were that 35.2% of the sample evaluated presented Gingivitis located in an intact periodontium; and, 37.3% presented localized periodontitis, there being a statistically relevant correlation between the prevalence of periodontal diseases and age (Chi-square test; p<0.05), but not with sex and level of education (Chi-square test; p>0.05). It was concluded that the prevalence of periodontal diseases in adults at the Pacasmayo dental clinic in 2023 varies significantly with age but not with sex and level of education.
