Frecuencia de tabiques en senos maxilares en tomografías cone bean de un centro radiológico de Chiclayo, en el periodo 2022-2023

Abstract

El levantamiento de seno maxilar es un tratamiento con alto índice de éxito para el tratamiento de implantes dentales en el sector posterior del maxilar superior, una de las complicaciones más frecuentes es la perforación de la membrana de Schneider debido a las alteraciones anatómicos como es la presencia de tabiques en los senos maxilares. Objetivo: El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la frecuencia de tabiques en los senos maxilares con tomografía haz cónico en un centro radiológico de Chiclayo. Material y Método: Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo, transversal, observacional con nivel descriptiva, se revisaron 103 tomografías del centro radiológico Digitalray. Se evaluaron la presencia de tabiques en los senos maxilares en paciente entre los 18 a 65 años. Resultados: Se encontró que el 74.8% (n=77) perteneció al sexo femenino y el 25.2% (n=26) pertenecieron al sexo masculino. La edad promedio fue de 55.84 ? 14.40 años. La presencia de tabiques se encontró en el 83.49% de sujetos (n=86), con 188 tabiques en 140 senos (67.96% del total de senos evaluados). Conclusiones: La frecuencia de tabiques en los senos maxilares fue significativamente alta con mayor presencia en mujeres.

The maxillary sinus lift is a treatment with a high success rate for the treatment of dental implants in the posterior sector of the upper jaw. One of the most frequent complications is the perforation of the Schneiderian membrane due to anatomical alterations such as the presence of septa in the maxillary sinuses. Objective: The objective of the research was to determine the frequency of septations in the maxillary sinuses with cone beam tomography in a radiological center in Chiclayo. Material and Method: A quantitative, cross-sectional, observational study with a descriptive level was carried out, 103 tomographies from the Digitalray radiological center were reviewed. The presence of septa in the maxillary sinuses was evaluated in patients between 18 and 65 years of age. Results: It was found that 74.8% (n=77) belonged to the female sex and 25.2% (n=26) belonged to the male sex. The average age was 55.84 ? 14.40 years. The presence of septa was found in 83.49% of subjects (n=86), with 188 septa in 140 breasts (67.96% of the total breasts evaluated). Conclusions: The frequency of septations in the maxillary sinuses was significantly high with a greater presence in women.
