Resumen
La microfiltración apical representa uno de los principales factores asociados al fracaso del tratamiento endodóntico, permitiendo el ingreso de microorganismos hacia los tejidos periapicales; el presente estudio tuvo como objetivo principal el de comparar in vitro el grado de microfiltración apical entre los cementos selladores en dientes unirradiculares. La investigación tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo de diseño experimental (in vitro) y comparativo; en su metodología de trabajo se comparó dos cementos selladores AH-Plus y Guttaflow Biosealen un entorno de laboratorio bajo condiciones estandarizadas, evaluando la microfiltración mediante prueba de penetración de colorante. Sus resultados mostraron que ambos materiales mostraron en su mayoría microfiltración ausente o leve, y no se registraron casos de microfiltración severa; concluyendo que no existe diferencia estadísticamente significativa entre el grado de microfiltración apical de los dos cementos estudiados bajo condiciones experimentales in vitro.
Apical microleakage is one of the main factors associated with endodontic treatment failure, allowing microorganisms to enter the periapical tissues. The main objective of this study was to compare the degree of apical microleakage in vitro between two sealing cements in singlerooted teeth. The research employed a quantitative, experimental (in vitro), and comparative design. The methodology involved comparing two sealing cements, AH-Plus and Guttaflow Bioseal, in a laboratory setting under standardized conditions, evaluating microleakage using a dye penetration test. The results showed that both materials exhibited mostly absent or mild microleakage, with no cases of severe microleakage recorded. The study concluded that there is no statistically significant difference between the degree of apical microleakage of the two cements studied under in vitro experimental conditions.
