Prevalencia de arteria y ubicación de la arteria alveolar superior posterior y relación con el seno maxilar mediante tomografía, Chiclayo 2023

Abstract

Introducción: La arteria alveolar superior posterior es una estructura anatómica de suma importancia, porque provee irrigación sanguínea a la pared lateral del seno maxilar y a la membrana del piso del seno maxilar, en el área de Implantología es importante conocer su ubicación al momento de realizar procedimientos de aumento de piso de seno maxilar. Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia y ubicación de la arteria alveolar superior posterior con relación al seno maxilar mediante tomografía. Materiales y métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo en el que se analizaron 300 tomografías computarizadas obtenidas de un centro de imágenes durante el año 2023, incluyendo tomografías con presencia de 1 o 2 dientes en el sector postero superior, para lo cual se realizaron cortes coronales, cuyas mediciones se repitieron dos veces para garantizar la reproductibilidad. Los resultados fueron anotados en una matriz de datos de Microsoft Excel y analizados con SPSS versión 22 mediante estadística descriptiva. Resultados: La prevalencia de la arteria alveolar posterior superior fue de 87,90%. Y se encontró en el 34,70% en sitios evaluados en el género femenino y en el caso del género masculino fue del 53,20%. Conclusiones: Con el presente estudio concluimos que la ubicación más prevalente de la arteria alveolar superior fue en la pared interna con un 54,50%, con mayores hallazgos en el grupo etario adulto mayor. En el sexo masculino la ubicación más prevalente fue intraosea y pared interna con 19,20%, mientras que el sexo femenino fue en la pared interna con un 35,30%.

Introductions: The posterior superior alveolar artery is an anatomical structure of utmost importance, because it provides blood supply to the lateral wall of the maxillary sinus and the floor membrane of the maxillary sinus. It is important to know its location when performing maxillary sinus lift procedures. Objectives: Determine the prevalence and location of the posterior superior alveolar artery in relation to the maxillary sinus with a tomography. Materials and methods: a descriptive study was carried out in which 300 computed tomography scans were used, in which the prevalence and location of the posterior superior alveolar artery were observed, coronal sections were made and the reviews were repeated twice to guarantee reproducibility. The data obtained will be recorded in a Microsoft Excel data matrix and analyzed with SPSS version 22, in accordance with the objectives and variables of the study. Descriptive statistics will be used. Results: The prevalence of the superior posterior alveolar artery was 87.90%. And it was found in 34.70% in sites evaluated in the female sex and in the case of the male sex it was 53.20%. Conclusions: With the present study we conclude that the most prevalent location of the superior alveolar artery was in the internal wall with 54.50%, with greater findings in the older adult age group. In males, the most prevalent location was intraosseous and internal wall with 19.20%, while in females it was in the internal wall with 35.30%.,30%.
