Resumen
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar el nivel de competencias gerenciales de los mandos medios y ejecutivos del sector textil en la ciudad de Chiclayo, así como su influencia sobre la competitividad y sostenibilidad de las empresas del sector. Se utilizó una metodología cuantitativa de diseño transversal, aplicando un cuestionario estructurado fundamentado en el modelo de Tarazona (2020) con una población censal de 35 participantes, compuesto por directivos y mandos medios de cinco empresas textiles. Para examinar los datos, se empleó estadística descriptiva a través de Microsoft Excel, con el fin de identificar los niveles y diferencias existentes en las dimensiones de habilidades conceptuales, técnicas y humanas. Los hallazgos revelaron que, en términos generales, las habilidades
gerenciales se ubican en un rango medio, resaltando que las competencias humanas son las más
consolidadas, seguidas a continuación por las conceptuales y, finalmente, las técnicas. Se detectaron áreas de oportunidad en aspectos como la planificación estratégica, la toma de decisiones colaborativas y la escucha activa con empatía, factores que restringen tanto el rendimiento organizacional como la capacidad innovadora. Por ello, se concluye que resulta imprescindible instaurar programas de capacitación continua, formalizar el desarrollo de habilidades gerenciales y robustecer las competencias interpersonales, con el propósito de potenciar la competitividad y la sostenibilidad del sector textil en Chiclayo. Esta investigación aporta evidencia valiosa y contextualizada que contribuye a la mejora de la gestión empresarial en las PYMES textiles locales.
The present research aimed to determine the level of managerial skills possessed by middle and executive managers in the textile sector in the city of Chiclayo and their impact on the competitiveness and sustainability of companies in the sector. A quantitative cross-sectional methodology was used, applying a structured questionnaire based on Tarazona’s model (2020) to a census population of 35 participants, including directors and middle managers from five textile companies. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with Microsoft Excel to establish levels and gaps in the conceptual, technical, and human skills dimensions. Results indicated that the overall level of managerial skills is medium, highlighting human skills as the most developed, followed by conceptual and technical skills. Weaknesses were identified in strategic planning, consensual decision-making, and empathetic listening, limiting organizational performance and innovation capacity. It is concluded that continuous training programs, formalized managerial development, and strengthening interpersonal competencies are necessary to improve competitiveness and sustainability in Chiclayo’s textile sector. This research provides relevant local evidence for business management in textile SMEs.
