The Nursing Care Process (NCP) is a scientific method inherent to nursing, fundamental to care and legal protection. However, there are factors that limit its application. Therefore, the present research sought to determine the limiting factors for the application of the nursing care process by nurses at a public hospital in Chiclayo, 2025. A quantitative study was conducted with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive design, with a census sample of 109 licensed nursing professionals from the Inpatient and Emergency Services of a public hospital in Chiclayo. Likewise, the survey technique and instrument used was a validated questionnaire with a reliability of 0.9 according to Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient (α). The data were processed with descriptive statistics, using Microsoft Excel 2016, employing absolute and relative frequencies, and measures of central tendency. The results showed a lack of institutional recognition of the professional methodology (84.40%), patient overload (79.82%), insufficient nursing staff (76.15%), absence of a committee (94.5%), the institution does not provide training (88.99%), lacked formats in the service to apply the PAE (75.23%) and insufficient time for the application of the PAE (87.16%). In conclusion, the implementation of the PAE is limited by internal and external factors; comprehensively addressing these barriers is essential to ensure evidence-based, systematic and patient-centered care, highlighting the importance of developing strategies that facilitate its implementation in the professional field.
