Resumen
El apoyo social desempeña un papel fundamental en el bienestar emocional y psicológico de las personas de tercera edad. Además, cuando las personas tienen una red sólida de apoyo social, están mejor estructuradas para manejar el estrés, vencer las dificultades y enfrentar los diferentes desafíos que se les presente en su día a día, más aún en los adultos mayores. Este proyecto de investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar el apoyo social en los adultos mayores en un distrito de Chiclayo, 2024. Esta investigación fue de tipo cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental, descriptivo - transversal. La muestra fue conformada por 272 adultos mayores en el distrito de Monsefú. Se aplicó un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. En la recolección de datos se aplicó un cuestionario “Propiedades psicométricas del Cuestionario de Apoyo Social Funcional Duke-UNC” (DUFSS, Duke-UNC Questionnaire of Functional Social Support) con un ?? de Cronbach de 0. 94. Posterior a ello, los datos fueron exportados al programa software SPSS Statistics versión 26 para su análisis. Por otro lado, se consideró los principios éticos: Respeto a las personas, autonomía, beneficencia y justicia. En los resultados los adultos mayores encuestados, cuentan con un apoyo social normal de 65,44%, un buen apoyo confidencial del 68,38% y un buen apoyo afectivo con un 54,41%. Los adultos mayores sustentan su independencia y autonomía dentro de su entorno familiar y cultural, esto facilita un cuidado adecuado para su salud. También ayuda al bienestar al brindar cariño, compañía y aumentar su autoestima.
Social support plays a fundamental role in the emotional and psychological well-being of the elderly. In addition, when people have a solid social support network, they are better structured to handle stress, overcome difficulties, and face the different challenges they face in their daily lives, especially in older adults. The objective of this research project was to determine social support in older adults in a district of Chiclayo, 2024. This was a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive-cross-sectional research. The sample consisted of 272 older adults in the district of Monsefu. A non-probabilistic convenience sampling was applied. On the other hand, the following ethical principles were considered: Respect for persons, autonomy, beneficence and justice. In the results, the surveyed older adults have a normal social support of 65.44%, a good confidential support of 68.38% and a good affective support of 54.41%. Older adults support their independence and autonomy within their family and cultural environment, which facilitates adequate care for their health.
