Resumen
La necesidad de profesionales de enfermería escolar en el sector educativo público, es un problema que se evidencia en la mayoría de países latinoamericanos. La presente investigación, tuvo como objetivo describir cómo es la percepción sobre la necesidad de profesionales de enfermería escolar en el sector educativo público, en un colegio de Lambayeque, 2024. La metodología fue cualitativa, con abordaje descriptivo. La población estuvo conformada por 35 docentes y 550 estudiantes. La muestra fueron 12 estudiantes y 12 docentes, determinada por saturación o redundancia de datos. La técnica fue la entrevista. De instrumentos, se contó con dos guías de entrevistas semiestructuradas construidas por la investigadora, validadas por juicios de expertos y una vez aprobado el proyecto por el Comité de Ética, validada por prueba piloto. El instrumento de registro fue el grabador de voz, se utilizó el análisis de contenido temático, obteniéndose como resultados tres categorías: Reconociendo las funciones del profesional de enfermería escolar en el sector educativo público; Cualidades y herramientas que requiere el profesional de enfermería para el cuidado de la comunidad educativa; y Barreras en la inclusión del profesional de enfermería escolar como parte de las instituciones educativas públicas; se priorizó que el estudio se base en los principios de la ética personalista de Sgreccia, así como en otros principios de rigor científico para realzar la calidad en la investigación. Se concluye que es una figura clave dentro de las instituciones educativas, sobre todo en el sector educativo público, donde se evidencia una mayor población y necesidad.
The need for school nursing professionals in the public educational sector is a problem that is evident in most Latin American countries. The objective of this research was to describe the perception of the need for school nursing professionals in the public educational sector, in a school in Lambayeque, 2024. The methodology was qualitative, with a descriptive approach. The population was made up of 35 teachers and 550 students. The sample was 12 students and 12 teachers, determined by data saturation or redundancy. The technique was the interview. As instruments, there were two semi-structured interview guides constructed by the researcher, validated by expert judgments and once the project was approved by the Ethics Committee, validated by pilot testing. The recording instrument was the voice recorder, thematic content analysis was used, obtaining three categories as results: Recognizing the functions of the school nursing professional in the public educational sector; Qualities and tools that the nursing professional requires to care for the educational community; and Barriers to the inclusion of school nursing professionals as part of public educational institutions; It was prioritized that the study be based on the principles of Sgreccia's personalist ethics, as well as other principles of scientific rigor to enhance the quality of the research. It is concluded that he is a key figure within educational institutions, especially in the public educational sector, where a greater population and need is evident.
