Resumen
El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar los factores que influyen en la intención de continuidad del uso del gas natural en los usuarios de la ciudad de Chiclayo en 2024. Se aplicó un modelo basado en la teoría de Expectativa-Confirmación adaptado al contexto energético, incorporando variables como satisfacción, utilidad percibida, facilidad de uso, confirmación de expectativas, precio percibido, conciencia ambiental y seguridad percibida. La investigación siguió un enfoque cuantitativo, con diseño no experimental y nivel explicativo. La muestra incluyó 382 hogares usuarios del servicio, seleccionados mediante muestreo aleatorio simple. Se utilizó un cuestionario estructurado con escala Likert de 7 puntos, y el análisis de los datos se realizó mediante ecuaciones estructurales en el software Jamovi. Los resultados revelaron que la seguridad percibida fue el factor más influyente en la intención de continuidad (β = 0.53), seguida por la conciencia ambiental (β = 0.18), la utilidad percibida (β = 0.14), la satisfacción (β = 0.10) y la confirmación de expectativas (β = 0.09). En cambio, el precio percibido (β = 0.03) y la facilidad de uso (β = 0.03) tuvieron una influencia baja. Estos hallazgos destacan la importancia de fortalecer la percepción de seguridad y los beneficios ambientales del servicio para fomentar su uso sostenido. Se recomienda implementar estrategias que refuercen la confianza del usuario, promuevan el valor ecológico del gas natural y mantengan una experiencia de servicio positiva.
This study aimed to identify the factors that influence the intention to continue using natural gas among users in the city of Chiclayo in 2024. A model based on the ExpectationConfirmation Theory was applied and adapted to the energy context, incorporating variables such as satisfaction, perceived usefulness, ease of use, expectation confirmation, perceived price, environmental awareness, and perceived safety. The research followed a quantitative, non-experimental, and explanatory design. A sample of 382 households using the service was selected through simple random sampling. A structured questionnaire with a 7-point Likert scale was administered, and data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with Jamovi software. Results showed that perceived safety was the most influential factor on continuity intention (β = 0.53), followed by environmental awareness (β = 0.18), perceived usefulness (β = 0.14), satisfaction (β = 0.10), and expectation confirmation (β = 0.09). In contrast, perceived price (β = 0.03) and ease of use (β = 0.03) had minimal influence. These findings highlight the importance of reinforcing user safety perception and promoting the environmental advantages of natural gas to encourage sustained use. It is recommended to develop strategies that build user trust, emphasize ecological benefits, and ensure a positive service experience.
