Childhood parasitosis constitutes a public health problem due to its high prevalence rate and wide global distribution. Human beings live in society, each with their own realities, customs, environmental characteristics and other factors; each individual or community may have different possibilities of acquiring a disease through different risk factors: environmental, economic, poor basic conditions, etc. Therefore, the present investigation had as objective: to describe the perception of risk factors for childhood intestinal parasitosis in mothers of a private educational institution in Chiclayo, 2023. The type of research was qualitative, descriptive. The population consisted of 40 mothers of children in the first and second grade of primary school; the sampling was non-probabilistic, by intention and was selected taking into account the pre-established selection criteria; for data collection a semi-structured interview was used, validated by experts, the data processed were through content analysis that consisted of three stages: pre-analysis, coding and categorization. The results obtained were two categories: Maternal conceptions about childhood intestinal parasitosis and Perception of risk factors for childhood intestinal parasitosis. In conclusion, it was revealed that most mothers have accurate perceptions about childhood intestinal parasitosis, the mode of transmission and its risk factors; however, some stated that they were unaware of this, which affects their ability to implement effective preventive measures, a situation that highlights important lines of action for health personnel to address these gaps in mothers' perception.
