Resumen
La dependencia emocional provoca consecuencias perjudiciales en la vida de los jóvenes, las cuales afectan su vida académica y familiar, generando repercusiones significativas, además, suelen experimentar una baja autoestima y evidencian una tendencia a minimizar la gravedad de los hechos. La presente investigación buscó determinar el nivel de dependencia emocional y autoestima en estudiantes de una universidad privada de Pimentel; como objetivos específicos se pretendió identificar los niveles de dependencia emocional y autoestima, según las variables sexo y edad. Para la selección de la muestra, se empleó un muestreo no probabilístico de tipo intencional, teniendo como muestra total a 150 estudiantes. El método de recolección de datos utilizado fue el cuestionario. Para ello, se utilizaron dos instrumentos: el Cuestionario de Dependencia Emocional de Lemos y Londoño, y la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg. Se realizó un análisis estadístico correspondiente con los datos obtenidos, con el fin de describir la
distribución de los niveles en función de la edad y sexo de los participantes. Los resultados están presentados de manera clara y concisa en forma de tablas. Se evidencia que la mayoría de los participantes tiene un nivel medio de dependencia emocional y alto de autoestima, con mujeres mostrando más dependencia emocional que los hombres, asimismo, estudiantes de 18 a 25 años también presentan niveles medios de dependencia emocional y alta autoestima, sin cambios significativos con la edad. Se concluye que, la autoestima se mantiene alta en este grupo etario, mientras que la dependencia emocional varía ligeramente según el sexo.
Emotional dependence causes detrimental consequences in the lives of young people, which affect their academic and family life, generating significant repercussions, in addition, they tend to experience low self-esteem and show a tendency to minimize the seriousness of the events. The present research sought to determine the level of emotional dependence and self-esteem in students of a private university in Pimentel; the specific objectives were to identify the levels of emotional dependence and self-esteem according to the variables sex and age. For the selection of the sample, a non-probabilistic purposive sampling was used, with a total sample of 150 students. The data collection method used was the questionnaire. Two instruments were used: the Lemos and Londoño Emotional Dependence Questionnaire and the Rosenberg SelfEsteem Scale. A corresponding statistical analysis was performed with the data obtained, in order to describe the distribution of the levels according to the age and sex of the participants. The results are presented clearly and concisely in tabular form. It is evident that most of the participants have a medium level of emotional dependence and high self-esteem, with women showing more emotional dependence than men, likewise, students from 18 to 25 years old also present medium levels of emotional dependence and high self-esteem, without significant changes with age. It is concluded that self-esteem remains high in this age group, while emotional dependence varies slightly according to sex.
