Resumen
Dado el creciente consumismo que se viene dando, los Chiclayanos deben tener conocimientos y actitudes que permitan ejercer un comportamiento socialmente responsable para el desarrollo sostenible. El propósito de esta investigación fue analizar en los consumidores chiclayanos, los conocimientos y actitudes que estos posean respecto al tema y el aporte que tiene la comunicación para incentivar a un consumo responsable, donde se tomó como unidad de análisis a personas con estudios superiores pertenecientes a la ciudad de Chiclayo. Se desarrolló una investigación de tipo exploratorio con enfoque cualitativo y se utilizó como técnica cuatro grupos focales. Se concluyó que los consumidores chiclayanos tienen adecuados conocimientos respecto al tema y actitudes positivas, pero limitadas por otros criterios de compra, además enfatizan en el rol que tiene los medios de comunicación y la educación, para crear cultura socialmente responsable.
Given the growing consumerism that is taking place, Chiclayanos must have knowledge and attitudes that allow them to exercise socially responsible behavior for sustainable development. An exploratory research with a qualitative approach was developed and four focus groups were used as a technique. It was concluded that Chiclayo consumers have adequate knowledge regarding the subject and positive attitudes, but limited by other purchase criteria, they also emphasize the role of the media and education to create a socially responsible culture.
