Características epidemiológicas y clínicas de la cardiopatía isquémica en mujeres, en un hospital de Chiclayo, 2019-2023

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar las características clínicas y epidemiológicas de la cardiopatía isquémica en mujeres en el Hospital Regional Lambayeque entre marzo 2019 y marzo 2023. Materiales y métodos: Estudio descriptivo trasversal y censal. El estudio incluyó un total de 70 historias clínicas recolectadas por muestreo censal que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión donde se evidenciaban los factores de riesgo cardiovasculares, factores de riesgo únicos y las manifestaciones clínicas de las pacientes. Resultados: La mayoría de las pacientes tenía entre 60 y 70 años y presentaba factores de riesgo como hipertensión, sobrepeso y dislipidemia. Fue frecuente que algunas tuvieran infarto previo y ACV. Se observó una prevalencia notable de infarto sin elevación del ST. La presentación clínica fue variada, con síntomas típicos como disnea y otros atípicos, como molestias en el cuello y mandíbula, lo que resalta la importancia de un diagnóstico personalizado. Conclusiones: Se encontró que la mayoría de las pacientes afectadas se encontraban en el grupo de edad de 60 a 70 años y que los factores más relacionados con el riesgo de presentar un evento cardiovascular más frecuentes en las mujeres fueron la hipertensión arterial, el sobrepeso y la dislipidemia.

Objective: Determine the clinical characteristics of ischemic heart disease in women in the Lambayeque Regional Hospital between March 2019 and March 2023. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study, qualitative, and census. The study included a total of 80 medical records collected by census sampling, of which 70 met the inclusion criteria that included medical records where cardiovascular risk factors, unique risk factors, and the clinical manifestations of the patients were evident. Results: Most of the patients were between 60 and 70 years old and had risk factors such as hypertension, overweight, and dyslipidemia. It was common for some to have had a previous heart attack and stroke. A notable prevalence of non-ST elevation myocardial infarction was observed. The clinical presentation was varied, with typical symptoms such as disnea and other atypical ones, like discomfort in the neck and jaw, highlighting the importance of a personalized diagnosis. Conclusions: It was found that most of the affected patients were in the age group of 60 to 70 years, and the factors most related to the risk of having a cardiovascular event more frequently in women were hypertension, overweight, and dyslipidemia.
