The aim of the study was to compare the knowledge and practices regarding the current use of bioactive dental materials in children between pediatric dentists and general dentists in Peru, 2025. The study was observational, cross-sectional, quantitative, relational, and prospective. A total of 114 pediatric dentists and 114 general dentists participated, selected through nonprobabilistic convenience sampling. Professionals registered with the College of Dentists of Peru and SUNEDU were included. A pilot test was conducted, and the virtual questionnaire was validated by expert judgment; it also demonstrated adequate reliability (KR20=0.732; temporal stability R=0.684). No significant difference was found in knowledge between the two groups (p>0.05); however, general dentists showed greater knowledge regarding the practical use of bioactive dental materials, being 3.8 times more likely to apply them appropriately than pediatric dentists (OR=3.868; 95% CI: 1.751–8.544; p=0.001). It was concluded that, although the level of knowledge about bioactive materials was similar in both groups, general dentists demonstrated better understanding of their practical application compared to pediatric dentists.
