Resumen
La investigación tuvo como objetivo describir, analizar y comprender las percepciones sobre dengue y prácticas preventivas en los alumnos de quinto de secundaria de la institución educativa privada Peruano Español, Lambayeque 2023. Esta investigación se desarrolló dentro del enfoque cualitativo con abordaje descriptivo e interpretativo, cuya población estuvo conformada por aproximadamente 120 estudiantes de quinto de secundaria pertenecientes a la institución educativa privada Peruano Español – Sede Lambayeque; el muestreo se asumió como no probabilístico por conveniencia, y se seleccionó en base a criterios de inclusión/exclusión, el tamaño de la muestra fue de 20 estudiantes se determinó por criterios de saturación y redundancia; para la recogida de datos se utilizó una guía de entrevista semiestructurada validada por criterio de expertos y una prueba piloto; cuya información se procesó mediante el análisis temático de textos, en todo el proceso investigativo se cumplió con los principios éticos y de rigor científico, en resultados emergieron 3 categorías: Los escolares como agentes promotores de dengue, acciones de la institución educativa y de los escolares frente al dengue; intervención de las redes sociales y recomendaciones de la brigada escolar en la prevención del dengue. En conclusión, los alumnos resaltaron la atención brindada en el área de enfermería, donde se les administró tratamiento para controlar la fiebre y prevenir la deshidratación. Además, valoraron la realización de charlas educativas a cargo de docentes de ciencias y biología, junto con la colocación de material informativo en las aulas.
The objective of the research was to describe, analyze and understand the perceptions about dengue and preventive practices in fifth-grade secondary school students of the private educational institution Peruano Español, Lambayeque 2023. This research was developed within the qualitative approach with a descriptive and interpretive approach. whose population was made up of approximately 120 fifth-year high school students belonging to the private educational institution Peruano Español – Lambayeque Headquarters; The sampling was assumed to be non-probabilistic for convenience, and was selected based on inclusion/exclusion criteria. The sample size was 20 students and was determined by saturation and redundancy criteria; To collect data, a semi-structured interview guide validated by expert criteria and a pilot test were used; whose information was processed through thematic analysis of texts, throughout the investigative process the ethical principles and scientific rigor were complied with, in results 3 categories emerged: Schoolchildren as agents promoting dengue, actions of the educational institution and of the schoolchildren against dengue; intervention of social networks and recommendations of the school brigade in the prevention of dengue. In conclusion, the students highlighted the care provided in the nursing area, where they were given treatment to control fever and prevent dehydration. In addition, they valued the holding of educational talks by science and biology teachers, along with the placement of information material in the classrooms.
