Conocimientos y actitudes de padres de familia frente al traumatismo dentoalveolar

Abstract

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar los conocimientos y actitudes de los padres de familia sobre el manejo de traumatismos dentoalveolares en una institución educativa de Chiclayo. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal y cuantitativo con 130 participantes. Se utilizó un cuestionario validado para medir conocimientos y actitudes, obteniendo un Alfa de Cronbach de 0.861 para actitudes y un Kuder Richardson-F20 de 0.581 para conocimientos. Los resultados revelaron que el nivel de conocimiento más representativo fue el regular, con un 56.92% (74), seguido por el nivel deficiente con un 25.38% (33). En cuanto a las actitudes, el 96.92% (126) de los padres presentó una actitud favorable, mientras que el 3.08% (4) mostró una actitud desfavorable. En términos sociodemográficos, el 76.92% (100) de los participantes eran mujeres, y el grupo de edad predominante fue el de 22-35 años, representando el 50% (65). En cuanto al nivel educativo, un 46.15% (60) tenía educación superior y un 43.08% (56) secundaria. El grupo de padres con dos hijos fue el más numeroso, representando el 36.15% (47). En conclusión, el nivel de conocimiento predominante en la población evaluada fue regular, mientras que la actitud más común fue favorable, destacando la importancia de fortalecer los conocimientos sobre el manejo de traumatismos dentoalveolares a través de estrategias educativas efectivas.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge and attitudes of parents on the management of dentoalveolar trauma in an educational institution in Chiclayo. A descriptive, cross-sectional, quantitative study was carried out with 130 participants. In sociodemographic terms, 76.92% (100) of the participants were women, and the predominant age group was 22-35 years, representing 50% (65). In terms of educational level, 46.15% (60) had higher education and 43.08% (56) had secondary education. The group of parents with two children was the largest, representing 36.15% (47). In conclusion, the predominant level of knowledge in the evaluated population was regular, while the most common attitude was favorable, highlighting the importance of strengthening knowledge on the management of dentoalveolar trauma through effective educational strategies.
