Burns represent a significant global problem, causing thousands of deaths each year. Most of them occur in the home. First aid is provided by family members, considered a vital act not only for immediate care but also for its impact on the recovery and well-being of the affected person. The objective was to describe, analyze, and understand the first aid experiences of family members of burn patients treated at a public hospital in Chiclayo, 2024. This research was qualitative with a descriptive approach. The population consisted of family members of patients under 18 years of age who suffered burns. The sample consisted of 15 family members, determined by saturation and redundancy, using non-probability snowball sampling. Ethical and scientific principles were taken into account throughout the research. The results were divided into three categories: Cultural knowledge and practices applied to burn patients as first aid; Family member feelings during the burn process; and Family, community, and healthcare team support when providing first aid to burn patients. It also concludes that the cultural knowledge and practices used are important for an effective response, as prior knowledge and experience influence decision-making, while emotions, such as guilt, can affect the response in an emergency. It also emphasizes that the support provided in first aid is essential to prevent complications
