The El Sifón Hamlet, located in the rural area of the Túcume district, presents deficiencies related to rural housing, such as inadequate water and sewage services, poor materials, overcrowding, lack of openings that allow for adequate ventilation and lighting, and pollution outside the homes, among others. The presence of these deficiencies affects the quality of life of its inhabitants and prevents them from having a decent place to live. Therefore, in light of this problem, it is proposed to establish habitability parameters to improve the deficiencies of the hamlet's rural housing. A mixed-approach methodology is used that responds to the indicators and implementation process applied by UNIAPRAVI and ONU-HABITAT. In addition, indicators are considered that allow us to understad the characteristics of rural housing in relation to its external and internal habitability. The methodology consists of three stages. The first describes the current situation of the housing and the immediate surroundings of the Hamlet, to determine the characteristics and deficiencies of the housing in relation to its location. In the second stage, the lifestyle of the hamlet's residents is analyzed to identify the user's needs. Finally, in the third stage, the habitability parameters that can be applied in a rural housing proposal that meets the hamlet's lifestyle are determined.
