Material and methods: Observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study. Human Medicine interns at the “Las Mercedes” Regional Teaching Hospital for the period 2024 I were evaluated using a list of 11 electrocardiographic tracings. Results: The level of knowledge was 5.50% for a high level; 50.90% for a medium level and 43.60% for a low level. It was found that the level of knowledge regarding the interpretation of the electrocardiogram was predominantly medium level and in the distribution of correct, the following stand out: Ventricular fibrillation and Acute coronary syndrome. Conclusion: It is concluded that the highest percentage of interns in the last year of medicine have a medium level of knowledge about the interpretation of the electrocardiogram. Furthermore, interns who have a “Very Good” weighted average, as well as those who have taken an extracurricular course on electrocardiogram and those who are oriented towards a surgical specialty had a higher frequency at the average level of knowledge.
