Resumen
Objetivo: Evaluar la actividad antibacteriana del extracto alcohólico de las hojas de Psidium guajava frente a cepas de Pseudomonas aeruginosa sensible a ceftazidima ATCC 27853. Materiales y Métodos: El extracto etanólico se obtuvo mediante maceración y filtración, utilizando como solvente etanol 99.8%. Se evaluó el efecto antimicrobiano in vitro del extracto mediante el método de difusión en disco.. Se utilizó ceftazidima como control positivo y agua destilada como control negativo. Resultados: El diámetro promedio del halo de inhibición en las concentraciones altas (0.2 - 1g/ml) fue de 13.2 mm. Conclusión: No se evidencia actividad bactericida del extracto etanólico de las hojas de P. guajava sobre cepas de P. aeruginosa ATCC 27853.
