Results: The sample was made up of 12 girls and 8 boys. It was found that certain members of children’s families have adequate general concepts of overweight and obesity, recognizing that this is an unhealthy problem. Some relatives didn’t think their children suffered from this disease, although they had been diagnosed previously. On the other hand, most of the children surveyed reported being in a middle ground between thinness and obesity, while a small group reported overweight. In addition, they stated that this aspect generates discomfort and concern about clothing, social interactions, and activities. Conclusions: The control and management of overweight and obesity requires an interdisciplinary approach that allows including the biological and sociocultural spheres, together with an appraisement based on Bioethics that proposes to generate health policies, involving ethical principles for a healthy eating behavior.
