Proceso de transición de las madres durante la hospitalización del prematuro en cuidados intensivos en un hospital de Jaén, 2023

Abstract

El proceso de hospitalización del prematuro, es un acontecimiento trascendental para el binomio madre-niño, este marcador específico es la separación del vínculo entre ambos, lo que genera la frustración en el desempeño del rol materno. El objetivo del estudio fue: Describir y comprender el proceso de transición de las madres durante la hospitalización del neonato prematuro en la Unidad Cuidados Intensivos Neonatal de un hospital de Jaén. Esta investigación fue de tipo cualitativa, con un diseño descriptivo. El tamaño de la muestra fue delimitado por la técnica de saturación y redundancia, logrado con 13 madres cuyos neonatos prematuros estuvieron hospitalizados en dicha institución. La muestra fue no probabilística, por conveniencia. Para recolección de datos se utilizó una guía de entrevista semiestructurada. Se procesaron los datos mediante análisis de contenido temático. Como resultado surgieron 4 categorías: a) El impacto de la transición como inicio de la hospitalización, b) Afrontando el proceso, c) Facilitadores e inhibidores de la transición, d) Finalizando una transición. Se concluye que para las madres la transición de la hospitalización de sus hijos prematuros en una unidad de cuidados críticos, genera cambios a nivel personal y en la dinámica familiar, en donde consecuentemente durante el proceso desarrollan habilidades y comportamientos que las ayudan a afrontar y desempeñar su rol materno, esto es observable de acuerdo a los patrones de respuesta contextualizados con los indicadores de proceso y resultado, donde la intervención de enfermería es vital, ya que orientaría a realizar una transición saludable para desempeñar su rol maternal.

The hospitalization process of the premature infant is a transcendental event for the motherchild binomial. This research aimed to: Describe and understand the transition process of mothers during the hospitalization of the premature infant in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Jaen Hospital. This research was qualitative, with a descriptive design. The subjects to participate were the mothers of premature neonates hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a Hospital in Jaen. The sample was non-probabilistic, for convenience. The sample size was delimited by saturation and redundancy; 13 mothers whose children were hospitalized in the Neonatal ICU participated. A semi-structured interview guide was used to collect data, validated by expert judgment. Prior to execution, the study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine. The data were processed through thematic content analysis; the criteria of scientific rigor and ethical principles were applied. As a result, 4 categories emerged: a) The impact of the transition as the beginning of hospitalization, b) Facing the process, c) Facilitators and inhibitors of the transition, d) Ending a transition. It is concluded that for mothers, the transition of hospitalization of their premature children in a critical care unit generates changes at a personal level and in family dynamics, where consequently during the process they develop skills and behaviors that help them cope and perform their maternal role, this is observable according to the response patterns contextualized with the process and result indicators, where nursing intervention is vital, since it would guide a healthy transition.
