Adolescence is a stage characterized by the establishment of interpersonal relationships, which is why social networks are a useful tool; however, its recurrent use predisposes an addiction at an early age, which in turn can mean that the person procrastinates on activities of an academic nature. Therefore, this research, through a quantitative approach methodology, nonexperimental design and descriptive, correlational and comparative scope, sought to determine the relationship between addiction to social networks and academic procrastination; and specifically, to identify the level of addiction to social networks and the level of academic procrastination; compare addiction to social networks and academic procrastination according to gender; and to know the relationship between the dimensions of addiction to social networks with academic procrastination in 288 students from a Private Educational Institution in Lambayeque. Through the Social Networks Addiction Questionnaire (SNAQ) and the Academic Procrastination Scale (APS), the results showed a low level in both variables; according to sex, women presented a greater tendency to use social networks in relation to men, although no significant difference was found in academic procrastination; likewise, there was no statistically significant relationship between the dimensions of addiction to social networks with academic procrastination; and likewise it was not found between both variables. In conclusion, students may present indicators of addiction to social networks, but this does not mean that they end up procrastinating academic activities.
