The main objective of this research was to determine the knowledge and practices regarding the treatment of tooth sensitivity caused by whitening among specialist dentists during the year 2025. It was developed following the guidelines of an observational, analytical-comparative design. The technique used was a survey for knowledge assessment and a Likert scale for practices assessment, which was validated and evaluated for reliability. To determine the sample, data from a previous pilot test were used, resulting in a sample size of 174 specialist dentists. The survey was conducted using the Google Forms platform, and to access the population, an Excel list was created with all the specialist dentists, who were then contacted through various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The results showed that 145 specialists demonstrated good knowledge, while 121 professionals demonstrated fair practice. Thus, the level of knowledge and practice according to sex and age remained rated as good and fair, respectively. However, within the specialty, differences in knowledge were found between rehabilitation and restorative dentists, but in practice, both maintained the same fair rating. It was concluded that, although knowledge about the treatment for tooth sensitivity caused by whitening was good among oral rehabilitation and restorative specialists, deficiencies still exist in the management of clinical practice and its professional application.
