To do this, the objective was to determine whether the perception of infidelity on social networks predicted anxiety in university students and as specific objectives, to analyze the differences in the perception of infidelity in social networks between men and women, and to identify the anxiety levels present in university students from fifth to tenth cycles based on their perception of infidelity on social media. In this regard, students were administered the Social Media Infidelity Perception Scale (EPIRS) and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) using a non-probability snowball sampling technique. The results demonstrated differences in perceptions between the sexes and in anxiety levels across the academic cycles evaluated, with variations observed in the distribution of low, medium, and high anxiety levels according to the students' academic progress. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between the perception of infidelity on social media and anxiety levels, with variations evident by sex and academic cycle.
