Resumen
Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de compromiso laboral en profesionales de enfermería del Hospital Regional Docente Las Mercedes de Chiclayo, 2025. Materiales y métodos: Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo y transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 135 enfermeras, obteniéndose una muestra de 125 profesionales mediante muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Se aplicó la Escala Utrecht de Compromiso Laboral (UWES-17), validada internacionalmente y con adecuada consistencia interna (α de Cronbach: vigor 0,82; dedicación 0,89; absorción 0,83). La recolección de datos se realizó entre enero y marzo del 2025, analizándose con estadística descriptiva en SPSS® v.27. Se garantizó la aprobación ética, el consentimiento informado y la confidencialidad de los participantes. Resultados: El 56,8% del personal presentó un nivel alto de compromiso y el 21,6% un nivel muy alto. En la dimensión vigor, 45,6% alcanzó un nivel alto; en dedicación, 50,4%; y en absorción, 52,0%. Los niveles más elevados se registraron en mujeres (89,6%), adultos de mediana edad (62,4%) y enfermeras con más de 20 años de experiencia (12,0% en nivel muy alto). Conclusiones: El compromiso laboral en los profesionales de enfermería evaluados fue predominantemente alto, influenciado por factores sociodemográficos y laborales. Estos hallazgos evidencian la necesidad de implementar políticas institucionales orientadas a fortalecer el bienestar, la estabilidad y la motivación del personal, contribuyendo a mejorar la calidad del cuidado y la sostenibilidad de los servicios de salud.
Objective: To determine the level of work engagement among nursing professionals at Las Mercedes Regional Teaching Hospital in Chiclayo, 2025. Materials and methods: Quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study. The population consisted of 135 nurses, with a sample of 125 professionals obtained through non-probabilistic convenience sampling. The internationally validated Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-17) was applied, with adequate internal consistency (Cronbach's α: vigor 0.82; dedication 0.89; absorption 0.83). Ethical approval, informed consent, and confidentiality of participants were guaranteed. Results: 56.8% of staff showed a high level of commitment and 21.6% a very high level. In the vigor dimension, 45.6% reached a high level; in dedication, 50.4%; and in absorption, 52.0%. The highest levels were recorded in women (89.6%), middle-aged adults (62.4%), and nurses with more than 20 years of experience (12.0% at a very high level). Conclusions: Work engagement among the nursing professionals evaluated was predominantly high, influenced by sociodemographic and work-related factors. These findings highlight the need to implement institutional policies aimed at strengthening staff well-being, stability, and motivation, thereby contributing to improving the quality of care and the sustainability of health services.
