The objective of the study was to evaluate the prevalence and factors associated with dental erosion in schoolchildren at an educational center in Chiclayo, 2025. The study was explanatory, prospective, cross-sectional, and observational. A total of 159 children of both sexes, aged between 8 and 12 years old with mixed dentition, participated. An inventory-type instrument with ten questions was used, distributed across two dimensions: eating habits and oral care habits, which was validated by experts specializing in pediatric dentistry. For the clinical examination, the Basic Erosive Wear Examination (BEWE) index was used to determine the level of risk of dental erosion. Statistical significance was found in the family size factor with a p=0.044 (p<0.05). Regarding prevalence, the 9-year-old age group predominated with 8.81% and females with 20.13%. According to clinical criteria, the categories of no erosion wear and initial loss of surface texture predominated, with statistical significance obtained in all cases (p<0.05). In terms of dental erosion risk level, the low level predominated with 32.70%. With regard to eating habits and oral hygiene, no statistical significance was obtained in any case.
