At the beginning of 2023, an unexpected increase in dengue transmission was reported, reaching historic levels with more than five million infections and 5,000 deaths in more than 80 countries. This study determined the relationship between the level of knowledge and dengue prevention practices among high school students at a private educational institution in Monsefú. The research was quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational. The population consisted of 188 students and the sample of 127, selected through non-probability convenience and stratified sampling. The collection technique used was a survey, using the "Knowledge and Practices for Dengue Prevention" questionnaire, validated by expert judgment and with reliability verified by Kuder Richardson (0.66 and 0.78). The data were processed in Excel 2019 and SPSS v26, using descriptive and inferential statistics, with Spearman's correlation coefficient. The results revealed that 33.3% of students had low levels of knowledge and 28.3% had low levels of preventive practices. The Rho coefficient was -0.032, indicating a very weak or nonexistent relationship between the two variables. Ethical principles according to the Belmont Report were respected. Health personnel at the Monsefú Health Center are recommended to implement educational sessions for parents, students, and teachers to promote effective preventive practices and reduce the risk of dengue infection.
