Conducta antisocial y autoestima en estudiantes de una institución educativa de nivel secundaria en Chiclayo, 2023

Abstract

El comportamiento humano se desarrolla a lo largo del ciclo vital, siendo la adolescencia una etapa caracterizada por profundos cambios a nivel físico, biológico y social. Durante esta etapa, muchos de los adolescentes realizan acciones desfavorables que repercuten en el ámbito familiar y/o académico, generando un ambiente inadecuado y hostil para su entorno; las cuales son clasificadas como conductas antisociales. En este sentido, la presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general determinar la relación entre la conducta antisocial y autoestima en estudiantes de una Institución Educativa de nivel secundaria en Chiclayo. Asimismo, los objetivos específicos buscaron identificar los niveles de conducta antisocial y autoestima, así como establecer la correlación entre ambas variables. La metodología tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo, alcance correlacional, de tipo transversal, con una muestra de 130 estudiantes, seleccionadas a partir de un muestreo no probabilístico e intencional, de ambos sexos distribuidos en 63 varones y 67 mujeres, cuyas edades oscilan entre 15-18 años (M= 15 y DE= 0.786) evaluados con la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg y el Cuestionario de Conductas A-D. Los resultados revelan que los estudiantes presentan un nivel medio de conductas antisociales, un nivel bajo de autoestima y no se encontró relación estadísticamente significativa entre ambas variables. Por lo tanto, se concluye que la presencia de conductas antisociales no se relaciona directamente con la autoestima.

Human behavior develops throughout the life span, with adolescence being a stage characterized by profound physical, biological, and social changes. During this period, many adolescents engage in unfavorable behaviors that affect the family and/or academic environment, generating an inadequate and hostile context for those around them; these behaviors are classified as antisocial behaviors. In this regard, the general objective of the present study was to determine the relationship between antisocial behavior and selfesteem among secondary school students from an educational institution in Chiclayo. Likewise, the specific objectives aimed to identify the levels of antisocial behavior and self-esteem, as well as to establish the correlation between both variables. The methodology followed a quantitative approach, with a correlational scope and a crosssectional design. The sample consisted of 130 students selected through non-probabilistic intentional sampling, of both sexes, distributed as 63 males and 67 females, whose ages ranged from 15 to 18 years (M = 15, SD = 0.786). The participants were assessed using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the A-D Behavior Questionnaire. The results revealed that students presented a moderate level of antisocial behaviors and a low level of selfesteem, and no significant relationship was found between both variables. Therefore, it is concluded that the presence of antisocial behaviors is not directly related to self-esteem.
