The present research aims to compare the effectiveness of the use of lime and pebble Stone powder as subgrade stabilizers for clayey soils. For this purpose, laboratory tests were carried out evaluating the percentages of 0%, 20%, 30% and 40% of both additives. In addition, it was sought to determine if the stone dust shows similar performances to those of lime. The physical-mechanical properties of the soil were analyzed with respect to the stone dust through different tests. In the results obtained, the Atterberg limits showed a plasticity index IP of 18.31 ,17.46,15.68 for the different percentages of additive. As for the Modified Proctor test, the values were 1.77,1.98 and 2.02 and the CBR presented values of 7.2%,8.9% and 11.04%. On the other hand, when evaluating the lime, the values of IP in the Atterberg limits were 17.65, 14.75 and 12.73, while in the Modified Proctor test the values were 1. 88 ,1.90 and 1.94 , with a CBR of 21.6% ,24.82% and 36.3%. These results indicate that both stone dust and lime offer optimum performance in subgrade stabilization with lime being more effective, as evidenced by the CBR values.
