The research was carried out with the objective of describing the perception of commercial infant formulas in mothers who are users of a Health Center in Chiclayo, 2024. The type of research was qualitative, descriptive. The population was 480 mothers who attended the Control of growth and development of their children under 2 years of age, at the C.S José Leonardo Ortiz, the sample size was made up of 16 mothers and was determined by saturation and redundancy, with a non-probabilistic sampling, by convenience. The data were collected through the interview, with the semi-structured interview guide instrument validated by expert judgment and by pilot testing and were processed through thematic content analysis. The project was carried out taking into account the ethical principles proposed by Sgreccia. In the results, three categories emerged: Reasons for the use of CFs, sources of information about FCIs, and perceptions about the adverse effects of FCIs. Coming to the final consideration that, among the most frequent causes, were: low milk production, followed by some maternal situations that limited the practice of EBF (cesarean section, reasons for work and studies) and erroneous perceptions about the composition and the benefits of FCI, influenced by the pediatrician, nutritionist and family; however, despite its adverse effects, they chose to use it; It is necessary to strengthen the educative role of the health team.
