Nursing research faces various barriers, especially at the primary care level, which limit professional development and the implementation of evidence-based practices. In this study, a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the barriers to research among primary care nurses in Chiclayo during the year 2025. The total population consisted of 340 nurses belonging to the Chiclayo Health Services Network. The sample consisted of 235 nurses, selected through non-probability sampling. Data collection was performed using a survey technique, employing the "Barriers to the Use of Research" scale, validated through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and a Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) index of 0.935; reliability was obtained through Cronbach's α coefficient (α=0.842). Data processing and analysis were performed using descriptive statistics using Microsoft Excel, version 2021. The research adhered to the ethical principles of autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice. In this study, the main barrier to research was the characteristics of the organization (17.94 ± 4.13), where the perceived lack of time to read research and limited time to implement new ideas were identified as obstacles. It is recommended that research be strengthened with training programs, infrastructure, and conditions that allow its integration into primary care.
