The main objective of this study is to determine the relationship between transformational leadership and engagement in teachers of an educational institution in Ferreñafe. This study had a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive-correlational approach. The sample consisted of 89 participants, of which 20 participated in a pilot study, remaining as the final sample 69 participants, whose age range was between 30 and 55 years (M= 41.9, SD = 7.08), of which 63.8% were women, 36 of them belonged to the secondary level and 33 to the primary level. The participants were evaluated by means of the multifactorial questionnaire MLQ (short form) and the Utrecht work engagement scale. The results showed that there is no direct relationship between transformational leadership and engagement. The latter responds autonomously to leadership. In addition, it was found that in terms of the engagement variable, half of the population is located at a medium level, while the rest is evenly distributed between high and low levels. Likewise, when identifying the levels of the second variable, it was revealed that the medium level is predominant among teachers. It is concluded that there is only one significant correlation between the charisma dimension and vigor. A charismatic leader can be key to inspire greater energy, resilience and willingness in teachers, promoting a more dynamic and productive educational environment.
