The objective of the study was to assess the level of knowledge about contemporary caries management strategies in children among pediatric dentists in Peru, 2025. The study had an observational, cross-sectional, quantitative, prospective design and was descriptive in nature. The sample consisted of 159 pediatric dentists registered with the College of Dentists of Peru and listed on the SUNEDU website. A virtual questionnaire was administered via Google Forms, consisting of 12 questions with three response options: "I agree," "I disagree," and "I don't know." The questionnaire was distributed through social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and via email to pediatric dentists. A pilot test was conducted with 29 participants, yielding an internal consistency of 0.495 (KR-20) and a test-retest reliability with a Pearson correlation coefficient of R = 0.836. It was found that 67.3% of the pediatric dentists demonstrated a low level of knowledge, followed by 28.3% with a moderate level of knowledge. A higher frequency of low knowledge was observed among pediatric dentists aged 30 to 39 years (25.7%), female (57.2%), working in the private sector (37.1%), based in Lima (37.7%), and with 10 to 24 years of experience (39.6%). In no case was statistical significance observed (p > 0.05). It was concluded that a low level of knowledge predominated among pediatric dentists regarding contemporary caries management strategies.
