Soil is a very important component in the construction sector, since it will be the foundation for new buildings and infrastructures built for the benefit of people. But, just as social benefits are constantly being sought, environmental care must also be taken into account, since the accelerated development of mankind is leaving a dark trace on the planet: pollution. Thus, a large industry such as the timber industry, over the years has been affecting more and more the environment around us, both for the unsustainable felling of trees and for the subsequent waste it leaves behind. The main waste generated by this industry is sawdust, which this research is seeking to use as a stabilizer for clay soils, which are the type of soil that occur in the highest percentage in Peru, making a comparison with a stabilizer such as lime, to analyze whether the residue of logging can give the soil similar mechanical properties to lime, using percentages of 5%, 10% and 15% of each addition. The samples were evaluated by means of tests such as the CBR and direct cut, which allowed establishing the standard sample of the soil in its natural state, as well as the most optimal experimental samples, which resulted for the additions of 5% sawdust and 15% lime individually.
