The World Health Organization (WHO) defines Alzheimer's disease (AD)1 as a neurodegenerative disorder that affects memory, thinking and behavior. This disease is the main cause of dementia and disability in older adults. Additionally, AD is classified into three stages: early stage, often called mild, a middle stage, and an advanced stage, sometimes called the end stage. Method: This research had a quantitative approach with a non-experimental cross-sectional design and descriptive scope. The objective was to determine the knowledge of the nursing professional about Alzheimer's care in a public hospital in Lambayeque, 2024. The population was made up of 86 nurses who work in said hospital, according to data obtained from the institutional website. The sample was non-probabilistic, for convenience. Likewise, a survey was used to collect data that was validated by 15 experts in the area and by pilot testing, the project was approved by the research ethics committee of the Faculty of Medicine. In addition, the data were examined through content analysis and each of the criteria of ethical and scientific rigor was met throughout the research. Results: The knowledge of the nursing professional in relation to care in Alzheimer's, 91.57% of the nursing professionals indicate that behavior modification, programmed hygiene and induced urination do not increase urinary incontinence in people with dementia.
