Acute diarrheal diseases (ADD) are the second cause of death in children under five years of age with 760,000 deaths per year, with severe dehydration being the main complication, which is why secondary research was developed Factors that influence the diarrheal diseases in children under 5 years of age in rural areas, objective: Identify the factors that influence diarrheal diseases in children under 5 years of age in rural areas. It was carried out under the EBE methodology, it is developed in 5 stages. The clinical question was formulated: What factors influence diarrheal diseases in children under 5 years of age in rural areas? The search strategies were developed by accessing the database (index, Redalix, Google Scholar) considering the key words (diarrhea, knowledge, children), 10 scientific articles were chosen applying Gálvez Toro's usefulness and apparent validity guide, being 5 investigations that answered the questions in said guide. Likewise, the ASTETE checklist was used to review the validity of the article's findings. Its level of evidence is III with a grade of recommendation C. The answer to the question was favorable, identifying various factors such as: precarious conditions of basic sanitation and water supply for human consumption, poor hygiene practices, overcrowding and lack of knowledge of mothers to proper management of the signs and symptoms of diarrheal diseases in their children.
