Acute diarrhea is a common gastrointestinal disorder that particularly affects children in developing countries. Objective: To determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and feeding practices in children with acute diarrhea at a health center in Chiclayo, 2024. Materials and methods: A quantitative, non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional study was conducted. The population consisted of 343 mothers from the José Leonardo Ortiz Health Center (Chiclayo), and the sample was 157, selected through non-probability convenience sampling. The technique used was a survey, and the instrument used was the questionnaire "Maternal knowledge and practices on feeding during acute diarrhea" by Valerio Cristobal, validated by a binomial test (p = 0.042) with an 89% concordance. Reliability was obtained through a pilot test in 30 mothers, achieving a Cronbach's alpha of 0.82. For the analysis, descriptive tables of the variables were prepared and Spearman's Rho correlation was applied using SPSS version 25 software. Ethical criteria such as respect, justice, and beneficence were considered. Results: 71.97% of mothers presented deficient knowledge about nutrition during acute diarrhea in children, and 96.18% demonstrated inadequate practices. Conclusion: There is a moderate relationship between knowledge and maternal practices, with a Spearman's Rho coefficient of 0.401*, indicating that with greater knowledge, better practices could be implemented.
