Caring for polytrauma patients is a task of great responsibility for healthcare professionals. Therefore, this research aims to determine the interventions performed by nursing staff with polytrauma patients in the emergency department of a public hospital in Chiclayo, 2024. This study had a quantitative approach and a non-experimental cross-sectional design. A census was conducted with 90 nurses from the emergency department of Lambayeque Regional Hospital, of which 8 were excluded due to selection criteria and 10 chose not to participate, leaving a sample of 72. Data collection was conducted using an observation guide validated by experts, with an Aiken validity coefficient of 0.96. Reliability was assessed with a pilot test with 30 nurses, obtaining a value of 0.73 using the Kuder-Richardson coefficient. Compliance with ethical principles was ensured throughout all stages of the study. The data were analyzed using Excel, resulting in six general categories presented in tables and figures, expressed as frequencies and percentages. It is concluded that nursing interventions in the ABCDE management of polytrauma patients in the hospital's emergency department are, for the most part, adequate according to the observation guide used.
