The present research addresses the phenomenon of hyperurbanization in Latin American metropolises, evidenced by the disordered growth of cities like Chiclayo, which has generated economic, social, and sustainable challenges. It particularly focuses on the district of José Leonardo Ortiz, specifically in the Villa Hermosa sector, where the proliferation of unused public spaces poses a significant challenge for social integration. These urban voids reflect segregation and a lack of social, cultural, and recreational infrastructure. The study proposes transforming abandoned urban voids adjacent to educational infrastructure into multifunctional educational parks that serve not only as recreational areas but also as centers for learning and community participation. The research outlines strategies to recover these urban voids next to educational infrastructures. To achieve this, three objectives are established: categorizing urban voids, evaluating the educational and recreational role of existing buildings, and proposing strategies to activate a potential network of educational parks. Adopting a non-experimental and mixed approach, the methodology includes field visits and interactions with local residents and authorities. This research aims to integrate suburban sectors into the network of public spaces necessary for community well-being, thereby promoting social cohesion and sustainable urban development.
