Resumen
La autoeficacia académica se puede definir como los juicios personales que tiene cada ser humano acerca de sus capacidades, habilidades y destrezas para llevar a cabo con éxito ciertas actividades académicas; mientras que, la procrastinación académica consiste en postergar intencionadamente ciertas acciones destinadas a la realización de una actividad o dejarlas inconclusas trayendo consigo consecuencias negativas; siendo ambas variables de interés en el ámbito de la psicología educativa. Es por ello que se ha planteado la siguiente interrogante: ¿Qué tipo de relación existe entre la autoeficacia y procrastinación académica, en estudiantes de nivel secundario de una institución educativa estatal, Lambayeque?. Para darle solución a la interrogante, esta investigación es cuantitativa, diseño no experimental - correlacional con el objetivo de determinar la relación entre autoeficacia y procrastinación académica. La técnica utilizada fue la encuesta y se aplicó la Escala de Procrastinación Académica y la Escala de Autoeficacia Percibida Específica de Situaciones Académicas. La población es de 1800 estudiantes del nivel secundario, donde se extrajo una muestra de 317 sujetos entre varones y mujeres. Se obtuvo como resultados una relación positiva con baja significancia, en donde dichas variables coexisten de manera dependiente.
Academic self-efficacy can be defined as the personal judgments that each human being has about his or her abilities, abilities and skills to successfully perform certain academic activities; whereas, academic procrastination consists in intentionally postponing certain actions aimed at carrying out an activity or leaving them unfinished, with negative consequences; both variables are of interest in the field of educational psychology. That is why the following question has been raised: Is there a relationship between self-efficacy and academic procrastination in middle-level students of an educational institution, Lambayeque? To solve the question, the present research is of quantitative design, not experimental - correlational with the objective of determining the relationship between self-efficacy and academic procrastination. The technique to be used will be the survey and the Academic Procrastination Scale and the Specific Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale will be applied to Academic Situations. The population is a total of 1800 students from which a sample of 317 high school students was extracted. The results were a positive relationship with low significance, where these variables coexist dependently.
