The main objective of this research was to determine the influence of organizational communication on work stress in teachers of a public educational institution in Chachapoyas. A quantitative method was used with a non-experimental, cross-sectional and causal correlational design. The population consisted of 102 teachers, and a census sample was used, obtaining a non-response rate of 1.96%. The data were collected through organizational communication questionnaires and the Maslach Burnout Inventory, with beta coefficients of 0.75 and 0.78, respectively. The data were processed with the Excel 2016 program and analyzed using the SPSS statistical package version 25. The results indicate that the formal communication dimension is the most significant aspect in the educational institution, with 55%, compared to 42% at the middle level and 3% at the low level. Regarding the variable work stress, 37% of the total number of teachers surveyed reported a low level of stress, 34% reported medium levels and 29% reported high levels. Thus, it was possible to conclude the influence of organizational communication on work stress, taking into account that, if organizational communication begins to exert influence, a decrease in it is associated with 1,832 more possibilities of not generating work stress.
