The use of polymers in road engineering has proven to be an effective strategy for optimizing the properties of asphalt mixtures. The objective of this research is to evaluate the improvement of hot asphalt mixtures with the incorporation of the EVA resin polymer, mixtures were prepared with different percentages of EVA polymer at 3%, 5% and 7%, using an optimal asphalt content determined from a control group. Then, the conventional and modified samples were compared by test tests of stability and Marshall flow, resistance to damage by induced humidity (Lottman test) and resistance to loss due to wear (Cantabrian test). In addition, the optimal percentage of addition was identified after a detailed analysis of the results, and a cost study was conducted. The results reveal significant improvements in the stability and resistance of the modified mixtures, as well as resistance to moisture damage and wear resistance, which increases their durability by reducing maintenance costs in road projects and extending the useful life of pavements.
